When ever I start Windows XP I have to click on the account name and type the password.

In the link below is a picture of what I used to see when I started XP.

And now
I have to click on the login name to type the password

Is there a way to permanently have the login like image in the first link?

Disable the password in control panel. I think its under user accounts. I think the option to remove that screen is also here

Well when I reinstalled XP it would show the flashing cursor and I didn't have to click on the account name for it to me type my password.

Now I have to click the user account before I can type my password.

So what do you want? To login or not?

when the Administrator account is the only account on the pc it selects it automatically. In the second picture I noticed that you have a named account that is not the root admin account.

I want to login without having to click the username to type the password in the first picture link.

The second picture link shows that I have to click on the name to enter the password.

As Speedy said -- go into the Control Panel, User Accounts, click on your account, remove password - reboot.

If that one account is the only user, then it should boot straight into windows.
