Hi all, my pc jus shutdown n wont start up at all. The Motherboard was ASUS A7V600. OS XP PROFESSIONAL. I've had this since 2004. If i do need a new motherboard is there other motherboards with similar capability, any help will greatly appreciated. I'm using a mobile 2 surf da net n send this message 4 the time being, laptop getting repaired.

If its dead, you may have to get a more modern motherboard, and ram. Since it looks like the A7V600 is socket A, theyre pretty much obsolete. Unless you can find one on trademe, or ebay

Any sign of life? Fans? Beeps?
New motherboards for AMD CPU of that age would not be available.
Tried another power supply unit?

The wireless router isnt part of the computer, its separate. Thats why the router is working. Where in Auckland? I'm in Mt Eden. If it is dead, you'll have to replace the motherboard and ram. Or buy one off trademe or ebay. Since those motherboards are no longer available

check the power supply in it.

if still nothing you may have to strip everything out of it and see if you get any error beeps.
if still nothing possibly cpu, ram or motherboard.
to replace mother board you will have to find a 2nd hand one. if you go new you will need new cpu, ram, video card (old is AGP and new is PCIe) and most likly a new powersupply.

Ah ok then. Umm now you'll have to decide whether you want AMD or Intel and what kind of ram you want. The ram you've got now wont work in the new motherboards. I could check it out, but you would have to bring it here

It would be nice if you answered the other questions. It might be the PSU for example.
