Have you installed the drivers and the program, if it came with one?

The original disk was made for 95 and NT. And it does not like trying to install on xp. So I have been looking around for the drivers, found some installed them, grabbed a PVR program and nothing shows up. Even said no devices found.

Looks like it has something to do with pinnacle systems. Might be one of these (http://www.pctvsystems.com/tabid/62/default.aspx/Downloads/Driver/tabid/123/language/en-US/Default.aspx) under internal PCI

Yeah I have seen those links on google but it has not worked.
When it first came out it was not from Pinnacle but they bought out the company.

I dont think it works with XP. So, you'll have to buy something else. Unless there's something @ the windowsupdate site. Some BT878 driver may work. I think thats the chipset in it

the Bt848 is very common.
Is the card appearing in device manager?
You could try the generic driver with a different PVR
software I suppose.

Yeah it is showing up in device manager. It was showing up as Hauppauge 848 something until I used the drivers from one of your links it now shows as BtCap, WDM Video Capture.

So, the hardware is OK?
Have to look at different software.
Which PVR are you using?

AWESOME. Thanks for your help speedy and KarameaDave. Was going through links on google using all the information stamped on the chip and came across this link (http://www.softwaredriverdownload.com/bt848_bt849_bt878_and_bt879_xp_driver.html) after click through so many pages downloaded the file installed it and it works.
