View Full Version : Mediation FAIL

Two Auckland company directors are in a furious mud-slinging match over a $40 plumbing bill.

Steve Taylor, director of mediation service 24-7 Limited, has set up a website attacking "cruel" Atlas Plumbing director Samantha McGaw for threatening to march his wife to an Eftpos machine to pay an unpaid bill.

His website:

"avoid costly legal fees, multiple court hearings, and adversarial conflict: that opportunity is Mediation. Having an independent third party assisting in the negotiation of a conflict is most useful when the two parties concerned cannot have a conversation about anything without the conversation turning nasty, spiteful, or cruel. The 24-7 Mediation service sets strict guidelines and boundaries for parties to a negotiation, to ensure that the problem remains the problem, as opposed to the people becoming the problem. "

My take on it is he a sexist pig and should settle the account in full.
For Atlas remember never trust anyone without an account to pay. Thats anyone the queen, the pope, family get the money at point of sale if they try anything on then you can call the plods. Take a gander back at Gregs post on debt collectors.

Anyone got a link to the website he setup? I've Googled it and can't find it anywhere.

A simple rule for all in sales:

"The sale is not complete until the client pays the account. Any fool can give stuff away!"

Unfortunately the law has gone a bit soft on slow, late and non payers - years ago I used to call on defaulting business clients and tell them about my lucky number - soon to be unlucky for them - 218 - Application to Wind Up.

This simple mechanism is no longer available
