So, I want to get audio from a youtube video, but googling it just comes up with sites that either don't work or are riddled with adds. oes anyone know of a good site for this?

Hi Jonathan

Here's a better but little known method to easily extract audio from YouTube Videos. Doesn't require Sound Extractors or YouTube Downloaders!!

Follow these steps and you end up with a useful format convertor, a High Definintion Video and Quality Sounds. Cost Zero!!

First you need to install a format convertor, I use FORMAT FACTORY (http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/). Be aware however this now has a virus installed. Easy to get rid of it, read about it HERE (http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?t=106577&highlight=format+factory&page=2). Now you have a really useful program.

Here's the easy bit. Go to YouTube and select the video you want the sound from. In the Address Bar, between youtube and the . (dot) put the digits 1 and 2. Address Bar now reads youtube12.com (etc). Enter.

This will open another webpage allowing you to download a HD copy of the video (if available), sound quality is better too. The top of this page allows you to select the format of the download. I use MP4. Download video.

Open Format Factory, select the sound format you want. Select your download, press start. Sound will be extracted and in the correct format.
