A09 is the correct BIOS update for your machine.

Hi there. Welcome to PressF1. It looks like there is only one BIOS for your PC and that is here and is Version A09.

I don't know where you downloaded XP from but are you sure the D/L is kosher?

Thanks! The dell site wants me to download to diskettes or floppy. Is there somewhere I can direct download it in exe.? or some other way? I didn't try to download the XP I have a disk! sorry about that mistake..Thanks

You can download the BIOS direct but there seems little point in doing so as it will be the same bios as you currently have I would think.

You will need a boot floppy or CD to flash the bios though.

I would like to direct download it. CD is all right. Currently I am running A08 Bios. Where can I direct download it besides Dell.com?

I don't know of any place other than dell to get the bios. You do realise you can't run that file under Windows.

Just re-reading your #1 post.
What exactly was it that told you to update the bios?
