Ok we have a canon iP 5200 and when directed to print the pop up box says the ink absorber is nearly full.......... where is this object and how do we fix it?
nobody at work seems to know, and the shop where you get printers and ink dont seem to know....... help anyone?
a workmate has emailed canon but we not expecting a fat reply.

any help from our vastly knowledgeable pf1 people would be appreciated.

With my older model of Canon, the entire base of the printer is a giant ink tank. It's lined with a spongey material. Cleaning it out involves a fairly significant disassembly of the computer, removal of the pads, and loads and loads of rinsing and squashing of the pads to flush out all the ink.

It's a sad indication of just how much of your precious, overpriced ink the machine dumps in order to ensure the jets are clear at each use.
