I am looking for a program that will take a screenshot, edit it and upload it.And is easy to use.
The method I have been using for years is:
Hit print screen.
Load it into windows paint
Crop it.
Save it
Upload it with Photo Bucket
Copy and paste the IMG.

There must be an easier and quicker way.

I sometimes use aviary to capture and edit a web site page - done online. Type aviary.com/ at the start of the url of the site you are on. Description at Digital Inspiration. (http://digitalinspiration.com/web-page-screenshots-in-google-chrome) But sometimes can get issues - so may have to use their addon.

I also use screen grab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146) as firefox add on. Does OK.

If you are using Vista or Windows 7 there is an ibuilt App, Snip - while its does the basics in editing - its OK for a freebe.

I actually use Snap 3 (http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/product_2_0324___USD.htm) - while not free, ( there is a trial) it does have a lot of options to alter the screenshots, or portions, depending on what you want. On the right in that page is a screen shot of all the "tools" available, also does scrolling pages.

have used Snagit for some years writing illustrated manuals. Beauty. However, the Snippit freebee from Vista, as mentioned previously, does a good quick and dirty.

Windows 7 calls it Snipping Tool! Yeah  I was just being lazy, as "snip" is all I type in to locate it quickly:D

Windows 7 calls it Snipping Tool!

And I have been accused of being pedantic.

I use picpick (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Capture/PicPick.shtml), allows you to capture the whole screen, current active windows or select certain portions on the screen. Once it captures, it opens its own image editor (like mspaint) and lets you edit it at the same time. And its free!

IrfanView works well too, as a screenshot taking program (press C to begin, set your 'hot key', save preferences etc and it minimises and uses next to no resources), then it will batch convert, resize, sharpen and save. All highly configurable.

I use Faststone Capture with XP:

Free, offers a number of options. Worth a look at. :)
