View Full Version : Printing from Windows 2000

I am using Win 2000 on my notebook and an Epson stylus 400 printer. I initially had trouble getting it to work at all. Now I have the right driver etc. but it seems as though I have to re-boot to get the printer recognised by Windows. Why is this ? Preveously I used Win98 and could type a document, walk over to the printer plug it into the notebook, turn on the printer and print. Very frustrating ! Any suggestions welcome.

In the printers folder when you double click add printer and select local printer you should have the option of letting Windows find your new plug and play printer. Try this option when you next plug in (delete the old printer first). You definitely shouldn't have to restart, Windows 2000 is supposed to be more advanced in that respect, in theory at least ;-}.
