Morning,
Just bought the bad company 2 game and got a free beta code, thought my pc would be up for it but there is abit of lag when i scope and walk around. My current specs are
Gigabyte P35 DS3R
Intel Core 2 duo E6750
2gb of samsung pc2 6400 ram
Nvidia XFX 8600 GT XXX edition

I want a quick upgrade before the game comes out, what should i change? I prefer it not to be too much cause im not made of money.

Well it is a beta, so will be buggy. So, you wont know if the final / release version will do the same thing, till you buy it. I wouldnt change anything. You'll be spending money for nothing

The 8600GT is going to be the thing that is slowing down the games.

I dont think your graphic card is up to anything but 1024x768 resolutions of modern games...what is your screen resolution?....

+1 Upgrade your video card first. Whats your budget and what resolution do you game in, hard to make a recommendation without knowing that.

If you can squeeze about $280-300 the ATI HD5770 is a great card, otherwise the HD5750 is poss your best at just under $250. They are mostly reference cards so brand doesn't matter except price and warranty, so Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Ginsu2000 all good.

Well 2gig is not bad still with XP assuming you have that. I would DEF use the money to go 5770 first over 5750. But sure 4gig will help so Corsair, Kingston, Gskill and a number of other decent brands. Just steer clear of Adata imo, commonly sold atm.
