So are you running AVG? If so then trmove it and try MSE or Nod32 if you want to pay.

Darksight

Welcome to PressF1. Looks like we never found a solution but AVG seemed common but not in your case. Sorry I can't help.

There seems to be NO fix for this. There's another post in here, with the same prob. I dont think it was fixed. But you can post a HJT log. And we'll see whats in it

Hi guys, I am having the same "End Program -n" issue. Also, I can no longer use FireFox. I can open and browse for about a minute, but then every site I try to go to doesn't load and the status bar just says "Stopped". I am now stuck using IE for the time being :(

Here is my HJT log. Hopefully you all can help:

Dont put the log in a box. It makes it harder to read

You can tick these entries then tick fix checked

Close browsers

Uninstall askbar

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"

Looks like this can hang on shutdown

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP Component Manager] "C:\Program Files\HP\hpcoretech\hpcmpmgr.exe"

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Google Update] "C:\Documents and Settings\Kayvan Mahramzadeh\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /c

Whats this ?

O4 - Startup: Dropbox.lnk = C:\Documents and Settings\Kayvan Mahramzadeh\Application Data\Dropbox\bin\dropbox.exe

Sorry about the box. Were you asking what dropbox is or what the googleupdate is? I have no idea what the googleupdate is for. Dropbox is a program that lets you store files online and access them from various computers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropbox_(storage_provider)

Dropbox. I know what googleupdate is. Thats cool then. After you tick those entries, reboot. Then see what happens

That issue is now fixed, thanks so much!

My other issue is that Firefox will load the homepage and then no page after that. All I get is "stopped" in the status bar. Here are some good explanations of what I'm talking about:

Thanks again.

Sweet, must have been that HP entry in startup... Are you using FF 3.6??

ParadoxCE

3.5.7

Speedy Gonzales
22-01-2010, 09:39 PM
Uninstall it / keep the settings. Then install 3.6. It just came out

No dice. I think I'll just switch to Opera until I reformat. No big deal...I appreciate all the help though. Thanks.

WHAT addons have you installed in FF?

ParadoxCE

I used to have greasemonkey, but I removed it thinking that might be causing the problem. Now I just have some extensions...

Java Console 6.0.13
Java Quick Starter 1.0
Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 0.0.0

What version of Java is installed?? Its up to 1.6.0.18 now. If this isnt installed, its below. Uninstall the older versions first
