View Full Version : 'remind.exe' can't be found warning on start-up

Obviously I've uninstalled something improperly. I get to warning windows when i start up (win95). The first basically says...
'cannot find remind.exe'

The second says...
'cannot run remind.exe, please remove reference to it from WIN.INI file'

I found the WIN.INI file but can't see any reference to 'remind.exe' in there.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Run msconfig and go to the win.ini and startup tabs and untick anything you don't need.

msconfig is not available in Win 95

I think you will find that a program you have installed at one time needed to be registered and the Remind.exe was going to remind you to register in a couple of weeks.
To get rid of it I think you will find a link to it in your startup folder.Go to Start Menu - Settings - Taskbar - Start menu Programs and click on Remove and navigate to the Startup directory.
