I have got a MP3 player. It is Dick smith. Doesn't have a LCD just a light. It seems to have 3 different flashes 1. Steady 2. Normal Flash 3. long flash. It is charging on every computer except this Dell dimension. What is wrong? looked in the manual doesn't tell me anything. gone on the dick smith website HTTP 404 error is what I get. Please can someone help!

IS that plugged into a front or rear USB port as some front USB's the power from the motherboard is divided between however many ports are on the front. Or is this plugged into a USB hub?

Welcome to PF1.

Could be a faulty port on the Dell, have you tried other USB devices and do they work ?

Could also be the USB ports dont have enough power to run it, or could also be the Dell has USB 1 and the MP3 Player may require USB2.

What is the exact model of MP3 Player from DSE.

I have gone through 3 DSE mp3 players not really sure if they the same one. But I never touch any electronic gear from DSE that is their brand (well cables are alright) even though I work for the parent company. Have been told not to buy any DSE gear from them and I see why.

So other devices don't work in the Dell?

Like a flash drive or printer.
