Hi,when i try to open an attachment in my email i often get a box show up that says"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.create an association in the set associations control panel"I am running vista home premium and i have no idea what they are talking about,can anybody help please?

So what extention does the file have?

Like the three letters after the .

it's a pdf file and i've done what speedy says but surely my email program should open it anyway shouldn't it ?

Nope it doesnt do it by default. What email client are you using? And what PDF program?

I'm not sure what you mean by email client,i go through sling shot my server and they forward it onto my computer,if i forward it onto my gmail account it can open it no problem,if i knew what they meant by setting the Set associations control panel i thought i might be able to open them in future from my email program

Save the pdf;

right click open with Adobe and tick the always open with.
