Hi there,
My wife has cracked her new laptop screen, (stepped on the closed laptop accidentally). I have now passed the stage of lecturing her about how she should be more careful with her things and would like to help her sort out.
Her laptop is a Sony Vaio. Can anyone offer any advice on where to go and approx cost.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply KD
we have an excess of $500 would the cost be much more than this?

Does the laptop still go if you plug an external monitor into it?
If it doesn't it may need more than just a new screen.

I will check, thanks. The monitor on the laptop does still work.

So the laptop screen still works?
The laptop boots and loads the operating system normally?

The laptop works fine, there is an obvious crack (maybe internally) on the screen

Maybe this'll help with costing (take it to a reputable service agent and get a quote; you could do it yourself, buuut very tricky).
