Magical Jelly Bean doesn't work Win 7 or Windows 2008 server.. all its shows is BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB for both the machines. Maybe MS has done some sort of protection? Works fine for the XP machines.

As it happens I'm using Win7 64 bit and magic jellybean worked for me.

From the link above:-

"

Standard Hooplah
The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware open source utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install Windows from your registry. It allows you to print or save your keys for safekeeping. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, Office XP, Office 2003, and Office 2007 family of products. It also has a community-updated configuration file that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability to retrieve product keys from unbootable Windows installations."

You may need to right click and run as administrator for it to work in win7.

Works fine for the XP machines. Since when :groan: - Never had any problems with it ???? I've used it several times and it shows the keys fine. Download from here, link down the bottom (http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/) Part of the results (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/Key.jpg) Obviously not going to show full key. Simply download, unzip the three files all in a folder double click keyfinder - never ever run as admin either.

[B] never ever run as admin either.

I've only ever had to do it in Vista. Haven't actually tried it or needed it in Windows 7 yet.

This (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/Keyfinder.win7.JPG) is what I get for both my Win Server 2008 and Win 7. Both are legit copies! Ran Jellybean on my Win Server 2008 at work that is running Exchange Server 2007 and same result.

So they must be MAK keys

Yup, ran as administrator, same results.. BBBBB-..... all my keys are VLKs (Volume License Keys)

seems to indicate that MAK is a subset of VLK

indeed, the other option is it could be a KMS key (Key Management Server) where 1 server with 1 key is activated against Microsoft and hands out keys acros the network to the Windows 7 Enterprise clients

Can't you just logon to the Volume License site and obtain the key from there?

Interesting, just tried Windows 7 Enterprise, pre activated Volume License MAK ( didn't need to enter key on install).

Magic Jelly Bean showed the key fine.

There are tons of different software for recovering the windows product key.I have limited experience but [edited] seems to work well.It can not only retrieve windows product key, but also can find windows cd key, windows license key like windows xp, vista, office 2007 and several other windows applications.

[Mod's comment: Are you completely stupid or did you think posting elsewhere on the net that you work for that company would go un-noticed?! I mean, haven't you heard of Google?]
