Its blank. You write / copy files to it

If its asking you to format it, does it give you the option to format it? It must be in the menu somewhere. I dont know. I dont use it. I use cdburnerxp

Um does the burner appear in device manager?? It must be there, if windows detected the dvd when you put it in the burner. Put a normal cd in it. Does it work?? Its either the burner or that blank dvd thats dead

Must be the blank dvd then its knackered. Install the update above. It'll let you burn to cd or dvd from within XP. Once you do that reboot, chuck that dvd in right mouse / format. See if it formats it

hold on,there's a jingling sound coming from imageburn, erasing complete,it seems to be burning,so why do I have to format it,erase it? They are Transonic.
