Have been given one of the old telecom sticks that is a sierra wireless card - the model prior to the usb t stick thing that they offer now - only issue is the card slot in my laptop (acer aspire 3000) is about twice the width of the telecom card.

Help.....thanks

Its probably a different interface to what telecom's stick it. If it doesnt fit it probably wont work. Ones probably a cardbus / PCMCIA, and the other expresscard. You may need some kind of adapter

Just looked up the specs on the internet for the laptop and it says it has a single type II PC card slot. The telecom thingy says on the box i need a express 34/54 card port - whatever all that means !!!

You'll need something like this (http://www.addonics.com/products/host_controller/adexc34cb.asp)
