The seasons all need to be shifted forward one month - summer should begin in January, which is when it is in reality anyway (at least in Dunedin), and then the seasons would align better with the year too.

This will be the 34th decree I pass when I rule the world. (#33 will be chucking Hone and his mum on an Island with nothing more than a grass skirt and Tiaha each).

Absolutely bang on nofam the seasons need sliding 1 month forward.
If you think dec is summer in nz you would have to be on dak. My favorite pastime at xmas is lying on my couch watching tv people in camping grounds getting washed out.Perhaps its because it was just made to be opposite the northern hemisphere

Sorta sounds like a Will Shakespeare line in a play Karamea Dave.

I thought we tend to have a bad Dec. I can remember more than one Christmas when the weather was cloudy and even rained. When some relatives from Canada came - it was actually raining.

Not Shakespeare, Douglas Adams

“Look, sorry, are we talking about the little white furry things with the cheese fixation and women standing on tables screaming in early sixties sitcoms?”

Slartibartfast coughed politely.

“Earthman,” he said, “it is sometimes hard to follow your mode of speech. Remember I have been asleep inside this planet of Magrathea for five million years and know little of these early sixties sitcoms of which you speak.”

I remember having snow on the local ranges here (Kaweka Ranges) between Christmas and New Year.

Had snow falling in the main street of Karamea on Christmas day, can't quite remember
which year, but was about ten years ago.
