Corsair
Kingston
Patriot G
Super Talent

I know the first two brands well, but if the specs are the same between any of these, is it worth saving a few dollars to go with which ever is cheapest?

I always use Corsair or Kingston -- Sometimes saving a dollar or two now, you end up paying for it later.

Is Patriot Viper any good?

I always thought that pretty much any RAM is OK, as long as you don't overclock it

But if you're going to overclock you should get something good

Kingston is what I currently have installed in my system.

Supertalent is better than you might think, my old pc had 4gig of ddr800 in it and it posted at 1300mhz which isnt a bad oc cheap ram.

But best bet is to stick with Corsair G.Skill and kingstons

1.3GHz DDR2??!?!?

Might have failed RAM test though if you did it?

Patriot and Supertalent are pretty good, not sure about the warranty side but I think they're alright. Supertalent has the best value RAMs around. Their DDR3 2000 modules are probably the best value, being able to do 2000 at I think 7-7-7-2something timings, which are damn nice, at $329 at CL. A CL8 Dominator is $700 and a CL8 Patriot $529!

Oh it was nowhere near stable, just curious to see how far it went lol

Stable was about 1000 from memory.

I think Super Talent has a lifetime warranty.

I think Super Talent has a lifetime warranty.

Yes? Which is? You may not be aware that Lifetime refers to the products lifetime not yours.

So Corsairs lifetime is 10 years. Certain other crap brands lifetime is 1 year.

Completely aware that "lifetime", or more accurately "limited lifetime" is dependent on what the manufacturer wants it to be (without getting into the CGA), so can someone fill in the gaps please?
Corsair..............10 yrs
Kingston............?
Patriot G...........?
Super Talent......?
if it gets too messy depending on the series/family don't worry.

I have 4 x 1 gig of none of the above and have for four years.

Still works too.
