Hey guys and gals
I was wondering if dual graphics would be better than one good solo card for a gaming desktop

Thanks in advance

What cards do you have in mind, for the single configuration and the dual configuration? Also what motherboard will you be using?

Single is ALWAYS a better option period!

There are CF and SLI fans, but most including myself would prefer a single higher end GPU due to power, heat and noise not to mention poor scaling with CF and SLI in some games.

What resolution you plan to run? and your high end gaming?

I would go for the best single card I could afford.

All good points, just get the best you can now and when you have enough money again get another one :)

2 only have an advantage in a few situations, spend the money on a the best single card you can get and youl get much more reliable performance

Ditto.
One card. THE card. Nothing less.

Agreed with what the others say...

Unless you already have a 30" Monitor, GTX295 and (perversely) still want more power...
