You don't create folders in Word. The operating system does that.

Sorry. Perhaps that should have been...I have put a new Word folder on My Documents, how do I password it. PJ

If its XP Home, sometimes it can be a PITA - you dont want to go encrypting folders all the time only to have to decrypt, then secure again just to alter.

MS have a program called My Private Folder (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Lockdown/Microsoft-Private-Folder.shtml) - it creates a new folder, that you enter a password when setting up, then to open - double click it, enter password do what ever you need to do, close it - Done.
