Hi guys and hoping you can help? (:thanks)

I have a hard drive, 5 1/2", sitting in the draw that has some old photos on it and would like to retrieve them.

Problem is my new 'puter already has two hard drives and no room for a third.

I understand there is some sort of external arrangement that can be used, but have no idea as to what to search for.

Any advice is greatly, as always, appreciated.

Ian.
:thanks

You can buy external Hard Drive enclosures from place such as Ascent for approx $30 and up to mount your CD drive in and attach it via a USB port

Just unplug the existing hard drive that is not running Windows and plug in the spare drive, grab the photos off it then remove and replug in the other one. You don't even need to take the existing drive out of the case. Just make sure the spare one is supported and not touching anything with its underside. Won't cost you a cent then.

I've propped mine up on a coffee table on its side while doing this sort of thing. :p

Use this:

Nice and cheap.

Or just use FoxyMX's solution:)

Or just take out a CD drive for a day and put the 5.25" drive in it's place until you've got everything off it you want. Then put the CD drive back :)

This seems like the best solution tbh
