Have many of you used Autoruns by SysInternals ?
I am thinking of getting it, but would like to know if it is a good program and does it work well ?

Have used it for several years, and it's brilliant - one of the absolute essential apps in your toolbox.

There are other tools that do similar things, but not as concisely as Autoruns. Had a laptop I fixed the other night that had 23 apps set to run on startup. I disabled 21 of them!!

Actually, pretty much everything Sysinternals do is fantastic - their process explorer tool is really nice as well.

What he said ^^

Probably one of the best programs I have ever used.

Yeah it's great, goes so in-depth but is still easy to use.

What's great about most if not all of the sysinternals programs is they require no installation. Just keep them on a USB flash drive and they are easily available to most PCs you need to work on.

Even though I'm very much at beginner level when it comes to PC troubleshooting, I really enjoyed watching the "Case of the Unexplained" videos by Mark Russinovich (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963887.aspx).

I find it's best to download the videos first. My bandwidth is not enough for the streaming version!
