View Full Version : E-Mail Virus

My daughter uses Yahoo Mail as her e-mail account. She was sent a suspicious e-mail, and unfortunately opened the attachment. It was the SirCam virus, and it infected our system - we had to seek professional assistance. Everything is working fine now, but she keeps receiving the virus attachment from different senders several times each day, although she now does not open them. When will the virus stop being sent to her?

SirCam spreads itself by mass mailing infected files to other people in the Windows Address Book (WAB)

Unfortunately, until epidemic is over and everyone else has managed to remove this virus from their system, you will continue to receive infected messages. The best thing you can do when you detect these viruses is to warn the person that sent them that their system may be infected.

For further information about this virus and how to remove it go to:

Tristan

Thanks for your message.

I also did not think there was much we could do to stop the bombing.

we have taken some preventative measures to minimise risk.

Thank heaven for virus protection - i do think users need to experience a virus infection to understand what it is like.
