Anybody having problems getting e-mail delivered to Hotmail.com addresses? All other mail is delivered but Hotmail is returned with the message:

host mx4.hotmail.com[65.55.37.72] said: 550
SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons
for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or
IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please
contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network
admins, please visit http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery
information and support (in reply to MAIL FROM command)

This has not happened in the past, but only since changing ISP to Orcon. If there are no suggestions, i will contact Orcon.

I am using hotmail and have had no problems.

Perhaps the address you are sending to is invalid?

Sounds to me like you should stop sending people spam.

It's happened a couple of times recently for anyone emailing a Hotmail account from Vodafone too. VF sorted it out - my impression is Hotmail is a bit too keen to ban an ISP if they detect any spam, knocking out everyone. Speak to Orcon.

Looks like it means your domain is blacklisted. And if youre using a dynamic ip address, (whoever had it previously) was blacklisted / blocked (and the reason why you are now)

My Paradise/CLearnet email account had the same problem last week, clear had managed to get their mailserver blacklisted by Hotmail. These free email providers like Yahoo and Hotmail, are over zealous with their filtering.

Cic, it's not ME who has the Hotmail address, it is other people, even in England to whom I am trying to send messages. Unfortunately I have no control over what email address they use.

I now have Orcon looking into the problem, as it seems to be arising at their point in the communication chain.

Just the knowledge that you are there to correct my spelling and grammar.

As it turns out, just as previous posters surmised, the 'igrin' internet address has been blocked by Hotmail. Orcon, who now own this address are trying to have the block removed.

Having trouble saving Hotmail in Outlook. Get this message:

Forbidden

Configuration:
Account: Hotmail
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
User name: bondgod2010@hotmail.com
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Error Number: 998
Code: 800ccc33

I am using the correct user name and password. Not sure what to do. So yes I am starting to go bad on Hotmail.

You can't use Hotmail in Outlook or Outlook Express anymore

You must upgrade to Windows Live Mail or install Outlook Connector in Outlook 2003/2007

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/878462

UNLESS your hotmail account has POP3 support then you can just change your settings.
