View Full Version : Mouse Freezes Randomly

Well i know there's a couple Linux guys around here so maybe someone can help :)

I've got Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 installed on my PC running the default GNOME interface but i'm having a slight problem. At random times, my mouse will just stop responding but all my other peripherals work fine. I can still use my keyboard to navigate around. If anyone knows what's wrong, i'd appreciate it.

Check whether it's conflicting with another hardware device (possibly sharing the same IRQ), dont know how that's done in Linux, perhaps one of the penguin experts can help :)

Update it on Friday next week. 9.10 is meant to be out

Been doing a bit of google searching, and seems lots of people have the same problem if using a USB mouse.

If you have USB try changing it to PS2, even with an adaptor, I have 9.04 on an old PC, and it uses PS2 - never had a problem.

When my mouse does that I know it is time for new batteries.

Not surprised if its a bug.

Ubuntu has to be one of the buggiest distro's around. Erayd can probably confirm that..
