Hi Jethro
I'm not a real expert on this but I have recentlty done this myself, with both a 486 and a Pentium 150 running Win 95. On the other end was a Celeron 667 with WinME.

You didn't mention any error messages so I assume there were none. The error messages I got were very helpfull and pointed me in the right direction.

I assume if the computers connected OK that both have the necessary protocols:
The other necessary thing is to set the file sharing. Ctrl panel > network > File & Print sharing.

Other than that, I found the WinME network trouble shooting very good, so Win98 help may be good help too.

I think I noticed once that if you make the compuer with the fastest processor the guest, and do the transfering of files from there it was faster; but that may have been just a oncer.
Good luck!
