View Full Version : Dynalink MOdems

I seem to have a recurrent problem with dynalink PNP modems . they will hardly ever be picked up by the pnp software in Win95 . Whenever I try to install maually and assign the modem to com3 (even com 2 out of deperation ) the modem never gets regonised . I contiually get the message of unable to find port in registry or cannot open the port .
I have tried re-assigning the com3 IRQ to the same IRQ as the modem ( and visa versa ) however Win95 will either not allow me do this or it will change com 3 to com5 on re-boot .
I am about to give all dynalink products a wide berth as I always seem to have problems with them .Can you help please.

Regards

Ian

This is because plug and play with windows 95 was useless. I bet if you tried with other operating systems you wouldn't have this problem.

Actually it is more to do with the fact that the software has to be installed to give it a com port but you don't have to muck around assigning IRQ's.

I wonder if Ian has been waiting all this time to get help, only 5 years.
