I have a inherited a ubuntu based server and I want to turn it into a windows desktop. When I go to boot from a windows XP setup cd the screen just goes blank. The server CPU is a Sempron L-1200 with 2 Gb memory and 2 SATA hard drives.
Any suggestions?

try this- download a partition tool, something like gparted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php) -burn the ISO file with your ISO section of your buring software - boot from that CD, see if it will show the partitions on the drive. Download Page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gparted/files/gparted-live-stable/) or Direct download link (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gparted/files/gparted-live-stable/0.4.6-1/gparted-live-0.4.6-1.iso/download) 100MB.

If it does, delete the partitions, then reboot with the windows XP CD - it should now load in windows.
