Great little program, but Im unable to zip to another drive, either A or E.

This command works fine in C drive

C:\PKZIP -arp c:\112\Test.zip c:\111\*.*

But when I use this command, to zip to A drive, it comes up with Cant find drive....

C:\PKZIP -arp a:\112\Test.zip c:\111\*.*

Thanks in anticipation.....John

The bulletproof way is to go to a:\112 and start it as:
PKZIP -arp Test c:\111\*.*,
this assuming that you already had a '112' subdirectory and a file called test.zip there. If you didn't, it may be the reason why it fails.

Don't forget that PKZIP is always creating a temporary file where is doing the compressing/updating, saving the file at the location, then deleting the old file, so take care to have enough room on the destination drive, altenatively use the -bc setting.

The problem appears to be creating the new directory on the A: drive.
An alternative could be to run PKZIP from a batch file and create the new diretory first with the MKDIR command.

MKDIR a:\112
PKZIP -arp a:\112\test.zip c:\111\*.*

Thanks Russel & Mark

The key was creating the new directory first. Im not that familiar with DOS,

One last question, what instruction is there for deleting a directory in C drive, then A drive, Do I need to select the drive first to delete a directory within it?

Cheers....John
