View Full Version : Small bangs within computer.

During the course of using my computer in the evenings for 2 to 3 hours, at intermittent times, a one-off noise like hitting the edge of a desk with a pencil comes from it 2 or 3 times. There have been no adverse effects with using the computer. Should I do something about it or just
ignore it and hope that it's go away ?.
PS I am not very clued up on the technicalties of these machines so any replies would be appreciated in language for a simpleton please.

Sounds like it could be your hard drive.

If your computer is under warranty then get them to check it out.

You should run ScanDisk
- double click 'My Computer'
- right click your hard drive (C:)
- Select Tools
- Select Scan disk

I would select options
- thorough
- automatically fix all

In any case back up any important data.
