I own a 5-year-old 2gig hdd and there is bad sector of 9.9megs. And ever since then, i think my computer has slowed down.

how can i remove bad sectors?
or do i need to buy a new hdd?

If you reformat the drive it will test the bad sectors, but they probably wont be fixable.
If you are getting more bad sectors then your hdd is dying, 5 years is an average life for a hdd, and it sounds like it hasn't had an easy life and I would recomend replacing it.
Regarding the speed, just a guess but the drive might be slow as it has to work around the bad sectors as they are in a frequently accessed place.
