hi guys im on my dads account and he said you have been able to help him out with some stuff.im thinking about buying a toshiba satellite notebook it has a 2.1 ghz amd athlon dual core proceeser 4 gb ddr2 ram and 128 mb grapics card.
would you recomend me to buy it? its at noel lemings model L500D/00u
any help would be greatly appreciated as im not that good on computers

For that price and for what you want to use it for, I would say yes. The cpu is the worst part of it that I can see after a brief look but it's still a very decent one

Oh wait, I see it has those crappy cash back deals going on it, so you will be paying the full $1200 up front & then have to wait for yonks for them to finally give your money back.

Calculate the price without the cashback and expect that.

You may not get your cashback!

Thanks for the replies(from NT). When he contacted NL, those were sold out. So, the next best thing I suggested him was to look at EEEPC as he's not sure if hi goes straight to UNI after leaving school(another year).
As he works regularly he just feels like spending a little.

School, music - Ok.
Game - what game? Laptops are NOT designed for gaming and anything half decent isn't going to run too well at all.
