Uninstall Nvidia firewall - ForceWare Network Access Manager, in add/remove programs, it causes probs.

Uninstall AVG or Avira, you dont need both.

You can tick these entries then tick fix checked

Close browsers

Probably neither PJ; as most around here will say, AVG is now bloated and slow, and Avira, while good, has a lot of popups & nag screens.

Use avast!

Speedy...Would you agree with this? Avira popups & nags are a nuiscance, I must admit. PJ

Never used Avira so dont know what its like. AVG so I've read is bloated and probably crap. Even tho I've never used it. I would go with Avast

Two real time scanners will always conflict.

Two real time scanners will always conflict.

Sounds interesting. tell me how & why? PJ

Speedy Gonzales
16-08-2009, 09:30 PM
Why because they can, the same way 2 firewalls can conflict with each other

PJ: 2 AVS can cause a huge amount of problems because they may both be trying to remove and lock the same file, and attempting to delete a file from the other AV's quarantine/vault(an infinite cycle...), or I've sometimes seen the other AV attack the other based on behavioural recognition...

It's OK to have as many On Demand scanners as you want, but just don't have more than one On Access scanner.
