Hi there: When ripping an EMI compilation of Bach Music the Media information comes back in what, to my eye, looks like Korean. Is there any way to get this right without a whole lot of typing?

Interestingly enough the Album Art is correct and the disk title is in English.

Thanks
Scott

I presume you mean the audio lyrics or specific media bit rates, title, album, etc info is in Korean? If so, then their are media info utilities to yield media info, but unsure if they support non English data. I did reviews on MP3 tools (http://mp3freesoftware.blogspot.com/2009/07/free-mp3-tools.html) which include identifiers (e.g. media codec, and others). But you may need to visit their sites for updates...

Also Media Coder (http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/) (from sourceforge), a all in one converter/translator, I believe has language support.

I was using Windows Media Player to do the rip and asked it to find media info. (included below). Curiously Disks 2-6 came out in English. Go figure.

One process to get correct media information with wmp is described here (http://www.ehow.com/how_5198820_cd-up-windows-media-player.html). You could also try the free freedb (http://www.freedb.org/freedb_search.php) (a meta/info database) and get album information (for retail/commercial CD's), if info has been uploaded from other users. Some Free Software CD Rippers (http://mp3freesoftware.blogspot.com/2009/04/free-cd-to-mp3-ripping-software.html) to MP3 (e.g eac (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/), Audio Grabber, etc) connect to the freedb and are probably better than wmp. Try one of those rippers (and connect to freedb from the software)...then optionally a MP3 Tag Editor (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) to also add track/mp3 media info...
