Anyone know of a good free PDF to JPG converter.
I tryed several so far & they either have a watermark or they just don't work properly.

Photoshop does the trick but that has a few extra features for your application unless you have it already...

First thing that comes to mind -- Open the PDF on the page you want, hit print screen - open Paint , Paste into paint - save as JPG.

Or if you have some screen capture software -- same thing.

http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-convert-a-pdf-file-to-word-excel-or-jpg-format/ just a hint -- I tried that site last night - I attempted to convert a 12 page PDF - it choked and couldn't do it - something about over sized.

Edited: it was taking a long time to read the pdf, so may be a problem on their site at the time.

Just a follow up to above - I retried that site, its working now , But I think its crap, the conversion was bloody hard to read, the text was all out of alignment, and pictures had sections missing & I wouldn't like to try and read some of it, it was very hard to read ( bad quality).

The original pdf was 642KB -- The converted came back as 2MB.

What you would end up with if you try is 1 word Doc, the PDF, and 992 pictures.

Thanks guys, I try that.
I'm looking at a spell in hospital & thought I would get some reading matarial on my PSP.
I thought it might be easier than taking a laptop.

Sorry to hear you need time in a hospital.

Take your PSP and some hospitals have books delivered as well.

Remember books do you? I know they are out of fashion but they still work for me.

I managed to get some converted images in there but it's pretty hard to read.
Looks like I might have to take the laptop.

Nothing wrong with books, I've read hundreds of them.
But I now have a problem with my hands that makes it difficult to turn pages.
No problem pushing buttons though.

If you can tell me how to get it in there as text without hacking the firmware I'll try it.

I have given up the conversion idea, it doesent come out clear enough to read on the PSP.

There is a version (free) of Adobe reader that allows you to edit PDFs.
It features a Text Selector tool.

Select the text selector and watch that the cursor is blinking on the first line of text.
Now, sadly, scroll to the last page (Ctrl End didn't work for me). Shift-Click on the end of the last word.

Wait, wait, wait.. Be patient - it's selecting s sh!t-load of text. Once the text goes into a negative (white on black) mode, do the usual copy and paste routine to get your text into a document.

Hope you're stay in the white house goes well. Best place to be with swine flu running rampant.

Yeh, I've been having a look on the PSP forums & it would appear you still have to hack the firmware back to an earlier version to run applications. So I'll probably have to can the idea. At least I can run Sudoku on it, thats a great time waster.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
