I would appreciate advise please on what software you may be using to record yourself singing to mp3 music and then mixing and adding reverb etc to your recordings. I have been using Syntrillium CoolEdit Pro 2 but that software won't work with Windows 7.

Cool Edit (Adobe Audition) I have used, but the popular free Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) is adequate. There is also Wavosaur (http://www.wavosaur.com/) that may be suitable; and a few others but with less functions where I reviewed at Free MP3 Audio Editor Downloads (http://mp3freesoftware.blogspot.com/2009/04/download-free-mp3-music-editing.html).

Here is a link to 25 popular audio editors, (http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/25-free-digital-audio-editors/) from basic cutters to the more comprehensive. But may need to search for reviews to see if they work with Windows 7...
