Have a WD usb drive that I wanted to use with an old win98 system i use in my music system. The creative recorder and wavestudio software i am running do not run under XP and the 333 celeron runs cleaner under win98.

Have tried a couple of optional drivers off the net and can get the drive recognised but not accessed due to usb hub driver not loaded under device manager.

All suggestions welcome:thanks

Try the ones here (http://www.technical-assistance.co.uk/kb/usbmsd98.php) select the version of 98 youre using. See what happens

Another option, buy from DSE a PCI to USB 2.0 card - drivers come with it for W98 - works fine.

Try upgrading to Windows 2000, if you can (the system should be able to hack it - how much RAM does it have?) :)

So have you worked out the actual O/S version you want to plug the USB drive into yet?
