Hi,

Can anyone suggest any free software to track data usage in a flat? We have four people and need to see who is using the most.

Cheers, Pete

Wired or wireless? Just computers connected? Any phones, Xboxes etc using the same connection?

Does it have to be free? There are some paid solutions available which have been mentioned on this forum before.

www.webgauge.co.nz

Not free but definetly simplest to use and set up!

You could do it with a dedicated box running a linux distro, like IPCop or PFSense

yeah just PC's and a mix of ethernet and wireless. Looking for the cheapest, simplist solution. If that happens to be setting up a linux box then so be it...any other options?

Networx may work, it may or may not work with wireless as well. And its free

Setting up a linux box will be the cheapest, but will take a fair bit of learning. You also have the satisfaction of completing something yourself :)

WebGauge may cost $5-odd a month, but its instant, and requires no additional time, and you know that you've got a commercial product that wont "miss" something :)
