I have a PC with the following specs:
CPU: Intel x86 2.4GHz
RAM: 768MB
Onboard VGA, unknown chip

Firefox uses around 75-100% of the CPU when I click a link or use tabs, and stays at 100% when a flash game is running. Is this normal for a machine such as this? I thought it would be fine.

Maybe an addon is causing this

Start it in safe mode(run>firefox.exe -safe-mode) and see if it happens

I tried FireFox 3.5 and the computer kept crashing. No problems with 3.0.11.

Probably a corrupt addon if any were installed

No safe mode didn't help. I would like to try an older version, but I can't find an installer. Anyone know a good link?

Here you go:

Scan it with your AV after you download it.
