:(
Yes although he lead a controversial life he was a great artist. I have most of his popular cds including History Past Present and Future. A sad day indeed for the music industry. My condolences to his family.

Sales for Thriller are still over 60 million more than the next best selling album, which is AC/DC Back in Black with 45 Million Sales.

A very impressive number that's going to jump even higher now!

The only Michael Jackson Trophy I would have wanted I missed out on.....

His head on a plate would have been nice.

Another legend gone.

Never liked his music in particular, though I never minded listening to them.

What's the betting that we will see an American "Princess Di" like display of grief :( :(

Back in 1951, the American "bobbysoxers" turned their attention from Frank Sinatra, and were screaming and shouting en-mass over Johnny "Cry" Ray. I couldn't understand what all the fuss was over then, I can't understand what all the fuss is over now. :banana

Those who listened / are listening to that (Sinatra, Ray, Jackson) probably got /are getting just what they deserve. (Whether from their viewpoint or ours ;) )
As long as they wear headphones, it's a win win situation.

It's already started. Some 36 year old was standing in Times Square and saw the news, stating that it was like when JFK was shot - everyone knew where they were when the world stopped, and he (the 36 year old) was in Times Square.

JFK was assassinated in 1963, which would have been about when that 36 year old was about to be born.

There's no way Jackson could measure up to the man JFK was. :angry

And now I guess we'll be treated to our local TV people going into "breaking news" hysteria for the next two or three days ...

:illogical Oops, my arithmetic wasn't quite right - I meant to say JFK was shot 10 years before the 36 year old was born :horrified

So? That doesn't mean he can't do the same thing now after learning about it later on

I wasn't the biggest MJ fan in the world, but his music is/was infinately better than all that yo yo mother mother crap that's an absolute insult to be associated with the word "music"

Just to make sure I'm on the same page, we're despising modern hip hop right? Where those retards make millions from singing about weed, cheap ugly whores, guns and money?

Best newspaper headline for would be:

"Akon and 50 Cent Found Dead Together Embraced in Questionable Position"
Same applies for soulja boy, or whatever kind of retarded names these asses call themselves.

Would love to see this - unfortunately it would probably only increase their 'street rep' and we would see a new wave of utter crap.

To bad we can't kill his music too....

For his contribution to the music world he is rated up there with the likes of Elvis Presley, The Beatles etc. As an artist I admire him.
