I have heard dead from various locations, and unconscious from others. I'd say he's dead. :o

Probably the bit of his nose he lost went to his heart.

Yes although he lead a controversial life he was a great artist. I have most of his popular cds including History Past Present and Future. A sad day indeed for the music industry. My condolences to his family.

Absolutely - it's easy to forget that he single-handedly changed the face of Pop music for ever. In his own way he was as influential as The Beatles.

Weird coincidence, I watched one of his live concerts just last week...his music will certainly live longer than he did.

Would be nice if they turned the concerts into memorials, with other artists playing his music, would be a massive waste to cancel them all.

Waste of money IMHO. He was going to lip sync - hardly what I'd cal a Live Concert...

Although Milli Vanilli got away with it for a while.

Non taken Greg. Just started the thread for folks to comment on his contribution to pop music.

Love him or hate him, his music was the goods for many people.

Myself, some of his stuff was brilliant, some was not so good. But then you could say that about most artists/music.

Seems weird. Now we have to go through news reports showing teen boppers balling there eyes out, the fake 'I knew him well, he was a good man' stories from celebs cashing in, the tribute concert of celebs cashing in, the cd, the movie, the cashing in.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is more than meets the eyes like he was taking drugs or something.

Rumors are that it was the continuous over-use of pain killers which he always had on hand (broken vertebrate and leg from that 40ft fall off a stage) prescribed by his personal Physician who attended to him as he collapsed, was interviewed by the police but has now disappeared and cannot be found for further questioning.

Even if the physician did nothing wrong he will probably have his life destroyed by the media
