Did you have a virtual PC? Windows 7 can mount and read VHD files as a hard drive.

I'm just trying this myself...

In Win7

Click the Start button

In the run section type in diskmgmt.msc This open the Disk Management Tool.

Click Action / Attach VHD

Navigate to the VHD file. Make sure read only option is checked just in case ;)

Click OK. Win7 should then mount it as a 'hard drive' thats visible from My Computer.

To unmount:

Right click the disk number that corresponds to the drive in the Disk Management Tool. e.g Disk 2

Click Detach. DO NOT click delete if you still want it. :xmouth:

Bob's answer is right on the spot-exactly how you mount VHDs

Wwas W7 installed on a VHD?

Or was VirtualBox or VPC installed?
