I have a hp compaq laptop Model NX 6120

Im running win7 but cant run the aero due to a wddm display driver not being in my system ive tried hp support but that wont accept the vista intel 915 chipset as i tried that downlaod and install.

Could somebody please paste a link as to where i could get a wddm driver for this issue please.

Theres a chance the Graphics wont take Aero - may simply not be powerful enough. heres the intel site (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1862&lang=eng) - but vista is not listed in the available options - if you look also on HP's Site (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=in&prodNameId=457952&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=457951&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2094) it only shows vista Basic ( which Doesnt have aero).

Try running the installer in compatibility mode.

Right Click>Properties>Compatibility mode.

Set to Vista SP1, then try SP2

According to some people on the web, WDDM came AFTER 915 was made. It misses some hardware features that Microsoft demands for WDDM standard. Chaances are, 915 is actually NOT WDDM-capable.

Besides, GMA900 probably won't have enough graphics power to handle Aero anyway. Maybe this is one of the reasons why people hate Vista and 7 so much: not only do they require a lot of hardware power, they require NEW hardware.
