View Full Version : Excel : Pasting content into a column with hidden cells

I have 2 spreadsheets. One is a modified copy of the other. The copy has been trimmed down to contain none of the hidden rows in the original.

No that I have to merge the two back together again I'm having difficulty in getting the rows to match up.

When I paste in the updated column it recognises the hidden rows in the paste process and therefore I end up with the updated cells getting pasted into each row sequentially as opposed to how the cells appear visually.

Does anyone know of a way to paste into a set of cells and have the paste function ignore the hidden cells in the destination file?

Done similar a few years back. Right click the toolbar - select customize - then commands tab - choose edit in categories. Then scroll down on R/H side to "select visible cells", then click and drag it to the toolbar. Then try it during your selection/paste process...
