The source seems to be from Real Alternative rather than RealPlayer. I have Real Alternative installed ages ago without any issues. Somehow, without any special reasons, I installed RealPlayer this afternoon just to compare it with Real Alternative.

Is this a nasty object? Can I allow it to access the Internet?

I have no idea what that file does, never used realplayer or its alternative. The log looks fine to me

This 'mpclauncher.exe" wants to access my computer and NOT wants to access the Internet.

Sorry for the confusion.

This 'mpclauncher.exe" wants to access my computer and NOT wants to access the Internet.

Sorry for the confusion.

Its a new update program from IBM/Lenovo called Message Center Plus. It apparently is automatically updated onto all their PC/Notebooks.

Beyond checking for IBM/Lenovo software/driver updates on your behalf (like the old version use to do), it also does desktop popups (non-IE) of offers to sell you their products. I got one such desktop popup within minutes of allowing Message Center Plus be installed on my IBM notebook, trying to sell me more memory.

IMHO, not a very nice program. I already disabled it on my notebook.
