    Default Clover in my lawn

What is the easiest way to kill clover in a lawn without killing the grass too? My back lawn has just as much clover as it has grass.

The very best thing to use is Versatill I just sprayed my neighbour's lawns for him this morning. You can only buy no smaller than a litre from CRT, Farmlands or PGG Wrightsons as it is classed as an agricultural chemical. It costs about $113 for a litre and you only use about 25 mls per 15 litre knapsack.
Do not use your grass clippings on your garden or dispose of the clippings in your greenwaste for about three mowings afterwards or you my nuke some other sensitive plants.
An alternative is Turfix but it stinks like a toxic chemical, doesn't have the persistance and costs more per knapsack full because the mixing rate is higher ie. you don't get as many applications per litre of the chemical.
Versatill is odour free and it takes out most broad weeds and it keeps on keeping on very well.

    why kill clover ?
its free fertiliser and if your worried about flowers just mow it.
personally i would leave it alone until clover flowers have dropped, as it will help feed all the bees etc.
    Tweak it till it breaks

Get yourself a bee hive and then you well have plenty of clover honey.

Hi Greven, if you only have a smaller lawn, Yates Turfix would be easier. Comes in 200ml packs. 65ml per 5 litres will give you 50sq yd coverage. What you don't use out of the bottle seems to keep OK, (two years spraying & this years is perfect.) Just check the prices around the dealers though, varies a bit.

Grass needs nitrogen, clover doesn't as it makes it's own. More nitrogen fertilizer gives the grass an unfair advantage so it takes over. No need for poisons.

I would rather use the chemicals than get an allergic reaction from a sting. I use yates hydrocotyle. Works way better than turfix but costs more.

Thanks for the suggestions. $113 is too much right now, but I'll look into how much the other products available in smaller amounts cost.
