Default how to tell if an image is copyrighted?

how to tell if an image is copyrighted? Will it have the person's logo or company text displayed somewhere on the image? I'm referring to images from the internet.

You should assume that all images are copyrighted unless it specifically says the image is free to use how you wish. Always ask permission before using for your own purposes.

Especially if you are going to use it for commericial purposes.

There was a true case where a guy's photo was used on a coffee can for a number of years, no one asked him for permission, he didn't know it was there.

He sued and got 5% (I think) of the total sales, which equaled many millions of dollars.

Mind you, if its just for a small time website, or a private production, I would take a punt and see if anyone notices

Besides I doubt people will complain if you ask for the pic.
Whats new on Stuffucanuse.com, and the messageboard?

You can do a specific google search for royalty free images. There are whole image banks online that you can down load from.
