I stack my routers, so they overheat - so sometimes I have to turn the lot off and point a fan at them overnight.

Mine is on a master power-switch with my sound system, printers and network switch. I turn it off every night (along with my computers) to ensure that I don't keep the same IP address for too long.

    Cheers

There isn't that much point in turning it off so I leave mine going. Plus, it is plugged into my AirPort basestation which is nowhere near my computer so it would be a hassle to turn it off.

Turn mine off so that no one can use up my 10GB by doing a DOS attack on my IP or scan ports

Actually i do now.. i think it is better just to leave it off for the night while we are sleeping, just give it a rest..

now wot i do is, buy a timer, so that it will open itself at 7:00am and turn itself off at 2:30am...

    haha
